Find the May 7, 2007 issue of Time magazine and the May 2007 issue of National Geographic magazine. Read the various articles on Jamestown in both and prepare a detailed timeline from 1600 through 1650 with illustrations. The illustrations can be drawings, sketches, cutouts or photo copies of drawings or photos. Students may use prints from the internet. No more than half can be photos or copies of photos. Students should show their creativity in any and all aspects of this assignment.
Prepare a chart of European explorers to the New World. List the explorers vertically in chronological order. If the same explorer sailed more than once, list his subsequence trips separately. For each explorer, list the following information horizontally: country sailed for, year sailed, destination, arrival date, landing location, success or accomplishments.
